An accidental message regarding a bomb threat was heard through UC Santa Barbara’s campus on Tuesday.
Around 1:30 p.m., outdoor speakers played a recorded message alerting the campus of a bomb threat. Several buildings reportedly evacuated in response.
At 1:36 p.m. the university released an emergency notification stating there is no bomb threat and the message went out accidentally during maintenance on the system.
“The situation is clear. Resume normal activity,” the notification stated.
There have been no further reports.
