On the above date and time Ventura City Fire responded to a report of smoke coming from the attic in a single-story residential home.

Initial reports were of two occupants trapped inside. When firefighters attempted to enter the structure, they encountered debris blocking all the entrances, including windows due to hording conditions.

Eventually firefighters were able to remove enough debris to make entry into the home, search for occupants and extinguish the fire.

No victims were found inside the home. Ventura Police Department was able to confirm that residents were at another location at the time of the fire.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
