Two UCSB Staff Members Test Positive for COVID-19
By edhat staff
Two UC Santa Barbara Dining Services staff members have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Garry Mac Pherson, Vice-Chancellor of Administrative Services, sent a campus-wide email on Monday informing the collegiate community of the positive tests.
Staff members who came into contact with the individuals have been notified while there is no evidence to suggest the cases are connected through work, said Mac Pherson.
The two staff members who tested positive were not involved in food preparation.
Mac Pherson confirmed all dining service employees have been following a strict sanitizing and cleaning protocol.
Students have been receiving their pre-prepared meals at an outdoor satellite location that's properly sanitized and all dining services have monitoring teams and wellness screenings to ensure compliance, said Mac Pherson in an email.
These are the third and fourth cases of on-campus COVID-19 instances that UC Santa Barbara has announced.

Jun 09, 2020 02:28 PMThe article specifies "on-campus" cases. Is there a breakdown of the total number of UCSB Employees/Contactors/Students who've contracted the virus?

Jun 09, 2020 11:49 PMAnd there were 30 new cases in the County. Why no report on this, EdHat?

Jun 10, 2020 06:21 PMThis is probably just UCSB dialogue which seems like a fraction. The University has many, many, many employees/contractors/students and more.
