Two Suspects Arrested in Santa Maria Shooting That Killed One Woman

Two suspects connected to a fatal shooting in Santa Maria on Friday have been arrested, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.

On August 9, at approximately 11:02 p.m., Santa Maria Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of West Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female with life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

On Sunday, August 10, Santa Maria Police Detectives, in collaboration with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested two individuals in connection with the homicide.

Victoriano Lopez Feliciano, 27, and his brother Gabriel Lopez Feliciano, 32, both residents of Santa Maria were located in Taft, California at approximately 6:00 p.m. and taken into custody without incident.

“Through diligent investigative work following the homicide, detectives identified both men as being involved,” the Santa Maria Police Department states.

Victoriano Lopez Feliciano was arrested for murder, while Gabriel Lopez Feliciano was arrested as an accessory after the fact.

Additional information about the victim will be released as it becomes available and after notification of next of kin.
