Two semi-trucks were involved in an offset head-on collision on Highway 166 east of Pine Canyon late Monday, prompting a full closure of the highway in both directions, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The crash was reported at 9:50 p.m. on April 13. Two occupants sustained minor injuries, were assessed by ground ambulance crews at the scene, and were not transported to a hospital.
Both lanes of Highway 166 were shut down due to the trucks blocking the roadway and a small fuel leak.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
Motorists were advised to use alternate routes while crews clear the scene and mitigate the fuel spill.
