There have been two rollover traffic collisions in the Goleta area on Thursday morning, reports the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Around 6:45 a.m., CHP reports a rollover crash in the center divider of Highway 101 southbound, just south of Dos Pueblos. The roadway was reopened by 9:00 a.m.
At 7:30 a.m., CHP reported another rollover crash blocking the number two lane on Highway 101 northbound at El Capitan Ranch Road.
“Please slow down and use caution when driving through the area,” CHP state.
Late Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, the Central Coast has been experiencing light rainfall due to Tropical Storm Mario. Rainfall is expected to continue Thursday and into Friday, clearing up by Saturday.
CHP reminds motorists to following the below instructions when driving on rainy days:
✅ Slow down – wet roads reduce traction.
✅ Increase following distance – give yourself more room to stop.
✅ Turn on headlights when using windshield wipers (it’s the law).
✅ Avoid sudden stops/turns – brake and steer smoothly.
✅ Check tires & wipers
