Two Injured in State Street Vehicle Collision

[Wednesday] morning at approximately 11:16 hours, the Santa Barbara City Police Department Combined Communications Center received a report of an unknown if injury traffic collision at the intersection of State Street and Arrellaga Street.

The first engine company on scene requested the truck company and an additional engine company for victim extrication. The truck company used a floor jack to separate the two vehicles and then removed the passenger door with specialized cutting and spreading tools. The patient was then extricated from the vehicle.

The collision caused the airbags in both vehicles to deploy. Two patients required transportation to the hospital.

The Santa Barbara Police Department provided traffic control and is handling the investigation.
