Two bodies were discovered in a vehicle off Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Ventura County on Wednesday, August 6.
At 7:39 p.m., 911 dispatch received a call from a reporting party stating they discovered the bodies in a vehicle parked on the dirt shoulder of PCH near the Mugu Canyon Rest Area, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies from the Camarillo Patrol Station responded and located a deceased female and a deceased male inside of a vehicle.
Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and located evidence that both the female and male suffered gunshot wounds.
The names of the decedents have yet to be released but have been identified as a 49-year-old female from Thousand Oaks and a 45-year-old male from Thousand Oaks.
Based on evidence at the scene, the incident appeared to be isolated and there is no threat to the public, the Sheriff’s Office states.
