  1. What a bunch Effen krp-let them go in our politicians neighborhoods- all the taxes we pay and They can’t keep these creeps in jail – we need to hold our governor our supervisors- senators our mayors accountable this is a bunch of garbage

  2. That will never happen when all the sheep in CA keep voting the same way, every election, time and time again, and keep wondering why things continue to deteriorate rather than improve. Maybe another decade of single party, super-majority rule is what we need, two decades wasn’t enough.

  3. I think California’s problem is that we elect rich progressives instead of middle and lower class progressives… the real people know the tool that crime and our failing public services are taking on their communities… they just can’t (by and large) bring themselves to vote for the farce that is the current republican party. A real choice would be nice.

  4. SBO: I think you completely missed the point of VOR’s comment. The point, I believe, is that when voters keep electing the same ineffective pols, we end up with what we are facing now, which is a failed state on every level. Companies and non-government jobs are leaving CA in droves!!!

  5. And what brilliant ideas did the shock jock radio host have for running the 5th largest economy in the world? The GOP in CA like to whine about the incumbents but elections are two part questions. 1) what are the pros and cons of the incumbents? 2) what can the challengers do better? The GOP never answers the 2nd question, it’s always fear and hatred with no new substantive ideas. And then they run oddballs Iike Elder who drank the Kool Aid instead of moderates like Schwarzenegger and wonder why they can’t get any support. I’m a fiscal conservative and pro-business, I want to vote for good conservatives. They just aren’t there anymore, freaks like 45 and Elder are running the show.

  6. The governor’s recall election, like last recall election, was a circus side-show free for all with no requirements to become a candidate other than completing an application. To call Elder the GOP’s candidate would be inaccurate and he would have never taken time off as a shock jockey had there been actual primaries in which he would have gotten nowhere. In focusing on Elder (because the media did, because his sensationalism is what the media wants to report, because sensationalism sells and the media is a for profit business) you’re overlooking the other “normal” fiscally conservative and pro-business candidates that did run in the recall election. Quality candidates that put forth substantive ideas to address the issues we’re dealing with. The GOP isn’t about fear and hatred, it’s the media that portrays them that way. Why? Because fear and hatred make them more money.

  7. VOICE – “The GOP isn’t about fear and hatred, it’s the media that portrays them that way. ” Stop blaming the media for everything and take ownership. It’s the GOP’s actual policies that you love so dearly that evidence the deep-rooted fear of change, acceptance of racism and homophobia, disregard for women’s rights, dismissal of our declining climate situation, and other clear examples of division and yeah, hate. Sure, there are some divisive liberal policies, but only one party is well known for its reluctance to change its stance on women’s rights, gay rights, minorities, etc.
The media is only reporting what is easily verifiable and true about your GOP. Man up and own it.

  8. VOR: Blaming the media for the GOP’s focus on fear & hatred is absolutely delusional. Their rhetoric and policies are deeply marked by both directed towards a wide range of issues and groups of people. Their election strategy has essentially morphed into making old white people, particularly Christian conservatives in the south and Midwest, clutch their pearls. Hysteria towards immigrants, Muslims, socialists, LGBT people, and others is central to their identity and policies. To deny this is a silly denial of reality. They need a boogeyman to point to because they can’t hold their own in terms of substantive policies anymore.
