Trees Cut in Alameda Park

By an edhat reader
What was that huge thud?
Alameda Park near Garden St - two palm trees had to be cut down because of a disease, according to a City Parks crew member at the scene. I live across the street and felt the ground - and my cottage - shake as each fell, prompting me to go outside and see what the heck happened.

May 25, 2023 06:15 PMCurious to know which disease and whether or not the crew made sure no Barn owls were nesting. Several species of birds like to nest in large palms.
