Source: City of Santa Barbara

The City of Santa Barbara collected approximately $1.18 million in transient occupancy taxes (TOT) for December 2018.  This represents a 39.7% growth from December of last year, which is skewed due to the impacts of the Thomas Fire on local hotels. By way of comparison, the two-year growth from December 2016 to December 2018 is just 2.2%.

The City has collected approximately $10.7 million in TOT revenues through the first six months of this fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30.  The City’s adopted TOT budget is $19,605,700.
