Trailer Fire Threatens Orcutt Homes

By edhat staff

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a trailer fire that threatened two Orcutt homes early Monday morning.

At 3:38 a.m., fire crews responded to Amethyst Drive and discovered a travel trailer fully involved in fire in between two single-family residential homes.

Firefighters bean an aggressive attack by securing a water supply and pulling a line around the trailer while additional engines completed exposure control on the two residences on either side of the trailer.

All occupants had evacuated and crews searched for any extension into the structures and attics. There was no fire extension and only minor smoke damage in one home.

There were no injuries and four people were displaced.

The cause is under investigation.
