Two traffic collisions temporarily closed the Los Carneros Road offramp in Goleta on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), two vehicles crashed on the Highway 101 southbound offramp around 8:51 a.m.
The initial CHP report stated a Honda Civic was traveling over 80 mph when it collided with a pickup truck. The vehicles then rolled down an embankment and slid all the way to the southbound onramp, one was reportedly on its roof.
The CHP Traffic Incident Page also stated one of the patients was combative, per the Sheriff’s Office.
CHP also stated there was a second traffic collision in the same area, around the same time, but details have yet to be released.
The roadway was shut down for several hours before being cleared and reopened by 11:00 a.m. Friday.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
