There’s a good deal of rain coming down right now (Thurs. morning) and that usually means traffic collisions.

I will update this page with more information as it becomes available. Here are some that I’ve heard on the scanner so far:

8:48 a.m. – Highway 101 southbound at Hollister Ave

A grey Tesla crashed into trees on the right side of the highway. CHP states it appears Tesla spun out first then collided with the tree.

Traffic break was initiated in the area. Emergency personnel on the scene. The driver, solo occupant of the vehicle, required extrication from the vehicle. They sustained minor injuries and was transported to Cottage Hospital by a ground ambulance.

9:58 a.m. – Highway 101 northbound at Castillo Street

CHP reports a blue BMW spun out and crashed into a ditch off the highway. The vehicle flipped and landed on the passenger side.

An elderly male driver, solo occupant, sustained minor injuries and self-extricated himself from the vehicle.

CHP states the vehicle is about 10 feet in a gulley between the Castillo and Bath offramps.

10:16 a.m. – Highway 101 northbound near Zaca Station Road

Reporting party called CHP about a vehicle in a ditch on Highway 101 northbound between Zaca Station Road and Alisos Canyon Road, north of Los Olivos.

The reporting party’s husband was reportedly in a collision around 4:45 a.m. Thursday into the center divider of the highway. The driver called insurance but needs help getting the car out of the ditch.

CHP reports one lane of the highway needs to be shut down as the vehicle is approximately 100 feet down an embankment.

11:09 a.m. – Highway 101 southbound at Refugio

Solo traffic collision in the #2 lane of Highway 101 southbound near Refugio State Beach.

The vehicle crashed in a construction area. The reporting party could see it from the northbound lanes.

The vehicle was moved off the roadway. It’s unclear if the driver is on the scene and if there are any injuries.

11:59 a.m. – Highway 101 northbound at Santa Claus Lane

CHP reports a traffic hazard for a silver Mercedes that spun out.

The #1 and #2 lanes are closed.

12:03 p.m. – Highway 101 northbound at Evans Ave

CHP reports a vehicle spun out on Highway 101 northbound at Evans Ave in Summerland, near the offramp.

Reporting party states the vehicle is in the #1 lane and it may have collided with the center divider. Referred to as a “grey sports car” and it is currently facing sideways on the highway, blocking the fast lane.

Unclear if there are any injuries.
