Must-Attend Historic Event is on THURSDAY
There are SO many compelling reasons to join us for the City of Goleta’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, STROLL event just ONE week away on Thursday, November 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Goleta Community Center (5679 Hollister Avenue) in Old Town.
Take a look at our TOP TEN list of why you should plan to be there for this historic moment to welcome holiday lights to Hollister Avenue in Old Town and kick off the GoodLandGoodShopping season.
Here are our Top 10 Reasons to Attend:
- Bragging Rights! You can always say you were there when the Shooting Star lights turned on in Old Town for the first time.
- Get your holiday photo with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at a festive photo booth from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Take home a 4×6 photo and access a digital file for free. Get your holiday card done early!
- Dance the Night away. Award-winning DJ Darla Bea will be playing in the gazebo in front of the GCC from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Meet the Mayor and Councilmembers and hear the story of how this project came to be.
- Eat tasty cookies and drink delicious hot chocolate served by our generous Greater Goleta Santa Barbara Lions Club members, courtesy of Holdren’s Steak and Seafood.
- Grab a Lights, Camera, Stroll activity map and visit the 15 businesses in Old Town that are open and offering something special to every person who comes through their doors. Click here for the list of participating businesses. It’s a great way to support our Old Town Businesses and kick off the GoodLandGoodShopping season.
- Shop EveryTown, a mobile app which makes it easy to support local businesses, will be there with a fun holiday challenge.
- The City of Goleta will be handing out mini flashlight keychains.
- Be a part of the community where you live.
- Get excited for the Old Town Goleta Holiday Parade on December 7. Sign up to participate, volunteer or sponsor. Hug a member of the Lions Club and thank them for putting on the parade each year and for all they did to bring holiday lights to Old Town!
What to know before you go:
- Arrive at 5:00 p.m. The lights will go automatically on as soon as it is dark enough and we don’t want you to miss the big moment.
- Allow time for parking. There is limited parking at the Goleta Community Center front and back parking lots.
