Thrifty Beaches Teases New Store Through Instagram Post
Thrifty Beaches currently has a 26,350-square-foot store in the Higuera Street area of San Luis Obispo. However, after polling their audience at the end of May through Instagram, where an overwhelming majority voted for Santa Barbara to be their next location, the brand announced through an Instagram post that they will be opening a 9,000-square-foot store in Santa Barbara, too.

The brand has become well-known among those interested in vintage products. Special promotions often prompt lines stretching a full block around the store. The founder of Thrifty Beaches, Adam Kemp, signed a lease for a space on 710 State Street, the former home of Restoration Hardware, last Friday—the same day he announced the new store on social media.
This prime location in downtown Santa Barbara is across the street from the Paseo Nuevo shopping mall. The space was home to Restoration Hardware before it was taken over by Kemp.
The Santa Barbara location should open in two weeks. It will operate between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. every day. According to a post on its official website, the brand is also looking to expand its second-hand offerings through an online store.
Great to see a small local business coming to State Street! And it looks like their clothes are affordable too. I’ll be paying a visit when they open.
