On September 3, 2017 Edward Ramirez was shot and killed in the 2000 block of North Lazo in Santa Maria. Since that time, Santa Maria Police Detectives have continued investigating this homicide and, as a result, three suspects have been charged as follows:
Thomas Castillo – 182.5/187 PC: Gang conspiracy to commit murder, 186.22 PC: Gang conspiracy for possession of a firearm
Nicholas Guzman- 182.5/187 PC: Gang conspiracy to commit murder,186.22 PC: Gang conspiracy for possession of a firearm
Juan Contreras – 182.5/187 PC: Gang conspiracy to commit murder
