Two individuals were caught on surveillance camera at The Daisy restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara stealing plants and custom-made planters from the establishment’s unique plant ‘chandelier’ feature.
The Daisy, located at 1221 State Street, reported the theft occurring on January 18. According to the restaurant’s owners, the thieves were prepared with bolt cutters, which they used to sever the plants from the decorative ‘chandelier.’
In a post on Instagram, the restaurant expressed disheartenment at the incident and shared details of the theft in hopes of gathering information from the community.
“Sadly, we were visited by a couple of thieves last night. They even brought bolt cutters to steal a couple of plants and custom-made planters from our plant ‘chandelier’,” the statement read. It also mentioned the distinctive clothing worn by the perpetrators as a potential clue for their identification and appealed to the public for help, urging anyone who might recognize them to come forward.
The restaurant asks that anyone with information contacts them directly. The video of the suspects is provided below:

Wow! It’s almost like you read the article!
Ah, the intelligence you are known for.
Bolt cutters for plants? That’s insane. Plants aren’t that expensive.
Plants might not be “that” expensive but they do cost a lot of money. And ruining th unique planter is going to be expensive. It shouldn’t matter if the cost of the plant is $50 or $500 it is still theft.
My point is that’s a lot of effort by the criminals to get something that doesn’t have that much value. It of course has value for the business owner.
Seems pretty petty to me. Bolt cutters for some plants!??? That’s a great Commercial Burglary haha. Picked up on a Felony commercial for stealing plants SMH. Get a life!
Tiny format video is not helpful. Why not 1080p on YouTube?
Another demonstration of your amazing intelligence. You’re on a roll.
