The owners of Rose Cafe are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect stealing items from their patio.
Lalo Barajas took to social media to share videos of the suspect taking pottery, plants, and other items from the restaurant in the middle of the night last week.
The suspect is seen in video footage wearing a sweatshirt with the hood up and taking decorative items from the front of the restaurant in the early hours of July 31.
“Anybody who could help with any details or information about who might have done this would be greatly appreciated,” said Barajas.
Rose Cafe was targeted for a similar incident last November when a group of men were seen walking by and taking decor from their patio as well.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the restaurant or the Santa Barbara Police Department.

What’s the common denominator here?
Not perceived, STONER. Actual. You see that question mark at the end?
“according to you this is just drunks stealing” – Not true at all. Stop making things up.
You can keep trying to be relevant here, but I’m done on this one with you. Have fun doing your weird stuff here again.
The common denominator is a lack of the ability to communicate coherently, via either reading or writing. A good example would be people who use the word “resulting” when what they probably mean is “resorting”.
ANON – just another dumb troll here. This place is filling up fast!
SBSTONER – you really should learn the English language and familiarize yourself with how words and punctuation works.
Wondering aloud whether it might be a drunk person is not the same as stating that this is “not the first theft.”
Read better.
“Better read” is the correct term.
You should know that but…….
Lol TNKY, no it absolutely is not. That would make no sense in this context.
Thanks for the grammar advice but…..
Yea,it is.
Google “Read better” and it will tell you that is not the correct way.
“Read better ” is past tense and is about as wrong as it could be, Unless you are from Appalachia.
“Better read” is a gauge of reading volume and comprehension.
In your bubble world that means you are smart.
Now that’s a textbook example of how Google may not impart useful knowledge.
TNKY – LOL you didn’t Google it.
“Read better” as in he should read better in the future. “Read” as in sounds like “reed,” not “read” as in sounds like “red.”
“Better read” implies someone has more literary experience and knowledge. That’s not at all what I’m saying. How could you get that from my comment?
Are you seriously saying the correct phrase is “Better read in the future?” Makes no sense.
Here’s a great book on the topic you could check out though:

PS – nice insult attempt on people from Appalachia. Before you go bragging about how “smart” you are, double check your work. LOL!

Wow, again! I remember when this happened last year
“read better” and “be better read” are more or less the same. I find the second one to be more polite.
Read better sounds (to me) like a mean teacher handing a paper back full of red notes, while “be better read” sounds (again, to me) like a nice librarian encouraging me to the next level of accomplishment.
sacjon- not criticizing you personally. Noting my personal preference.
TNKY- I understood immediately what you were doing, but “better read” as a stand alone doesn’t work for me. “Be better read” works easily. “Be” does all the heavy lifting
It must be part of the general deterioration in language skills that you misinterpreted the meaning, too.
Yeah, Edney, I see where you’re going there, but I wasn’t encouraging Stoner to gain more literary experience, I was telling him to “read better.” To think more about the words and punctuation that his eyes are seeing and his brain is (presumably) processing.
Total disrespect. But that is the pattern we e seen develop in recent years. From porch pirates to stealing from stores. Is the value of the items less than $950? Are we now pursuing misdemeanors?
The comments here are too funny. All the speculation about the two instances of stealing. Everyone making assumptions and arguing about them.
Or did I miss where the thief was actually arrested and charged?
And so petty, bravo community.
