If it was a fight, they would have stopped it.
Vice President Kamala Harris triumphed over Donald Trump on Tuesday night, with an aggressive, surgical and sustained debate performance that forced a glowering, rambling and sputtering former president into a defensive posture from the opening moments of the event.
Coming into a high-stakes showdown before which nearly one-third the country said they wanted to know more about her, Harris was in command throughout the 105-minute affair in Philadelphia, highlighting her agenda for a middle class “opportunity economy” while largely blunting attacks on her greatest policy weaknesses.
She successfully and repeatedly triggered Trump, who responded with ranting, repetitive rhetoric, streams of consciousness, and exaggerations that made him seem like angry Uncle Al at Thanksgiving, who’s been spending too much time on MAGA Twitter.
“They’re killing pets!” Trump bellowed, at perhaps his low point of the evening, as he sought to assail Harris on immigration by recycling a debunked, right-wing online story about Haitian immigrants allegedly eating the cats and dogs of citizens in Springfield, Ohio.
Harris seemed to catch Trump by surprise, even before the affair began: When the two were introduced, she strode confidently past the six feet between them to where Trump stood, head down behind his podium, introduced herself and held out her hand, which he weakly shook with a mumble.
An instant CNN poll of debate watchers reported that 63 percent said she won, compared to 37 percent who favored him. Before the debate, it was 50-50 when the respondents were asked who they thought would prevail.
Kamala Harris came onstage with a clear plan: Throw Donald Trump off his game. And he took the bait — over and over again.
Here are the takeaways from a fierce debate. https://t.co/IebNj0Ug5x
— CNN (@CNN) September 11, 2024
With the race between the two a statistical tie, both nationally, and in all of the seven toss-up states, her debate performance could help Harris to persuade some of the few, undecided and independent voters remaining, that she has the character, ability, intelligence, temperament and presence to occupy the White House, although the contest is so close last night’s event is unlikely to make any dramatic shift in its shape.
Here are five instant analysis takeaways:
The frame
By keeping Trump on defense throughout the 105-minute affair, Harris succeeded in defining the basic choices before voters in her terms: hope vs. fear, change vs. more of the same, middle class vs. billionaires, anger vs optimism, national security policy that supports democratic allies vs. an isolationist leader who admires and aspires to be a strongman.
Harris kept baiting Trump with biting political and personal criticisms about his presidency, business career and legal problems, and triggered him into spending many of his two-minute answers defending the past (when he wasn’t quarreling with the moderators) — what happened in the Charlottesville KKK rally and Jan, 6, what happened during Covid, what happened before Covid, even the crowds at his rallies — at which point she would pivot, speak directly into the camera and portray herself as a future president who would be “focused on you, the American people” while “Donald Trump only cares about himself.”
The two-shot
For much of the affair, ABC cameras showed both of the candidates at once, and the split screen images not only served to underscore her generational argument with a clear contrast between an old man and a much younger woman, but also juxtaposed her lively facial expressions – smiling broadly at his stream of consciousness improvisations, shaking her head at his exaggerations, arching an eyebrow in disbelief, putting a finger to her chin in bemusement – with what appeared to be his simmering anger.
Harris repeatedly looked and spoke directly at Trump, while he rarely looked in her direction, either keeping his eyes narrowed and down or at the moderators, as if it was them rather than the tens of millions of people watching at home that he needed to persuade.
Abortion
No issue was a stronger one for Harris than the discussion of abortion rights. Moderator Linsey Davis phrased her question as a recitation of Trump’s multiple-choice positions on the issue and his response verged on the nonsensical: he claimed that “everyone…every Republican, every Democrat” wanted Roe v. Wade overturned, insisted over the fact-checking of Davis that pro-choice parents and doctors “execute babies” after they are birthed, and refused at least twice to answer a simple yes or no inquiry about whether he would sign a federal abortion ban.
Her answers were both substantive and specific, as she brought up several heinous cases of women who have turned away for medical care by doctors and in emergency rooms in states that have very restrictive abortion bans since Roe was repealed, pointing out the inanity of women wanting to abort babies they fought so hard to carry to term and promising to sign a codification into law of the right to an abortion if she becomes president (although Trump was correct in pointing to this as political pandering given that the chances of such legislation passing Congress are slim and none).
Character references
Harris succeeded in setting Trump off by mentioning that several top defense and military advisers who served under him – including Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Chief of Staff Mark Milley – are supporting her and repeating their comments that he is “unfit” for the presidency and a “disgrace” in his attitudes toward the military.
Yet again finding himself defensively arguing about his record, he answered with bluster that sounded as if it might have come from his old reality TV show, “The Apprentice”: “they had to be fired he said, accusing them of having done “bad things, very bad things (no word on what any of these might have been)” and accusing them all of just wanting to sell books.
At one point, after Harris said that foreign leaders around the world “laugh at you,” Trump recounted Viktor Orban, Hungary’s authoritarian leader, delivering the highest praise during a recent visit to Mar-a-lago, implicitly proving Harris’s point about him cozying up to dictators. At another, he claimed she was lying about him having said “there were good people on both sides” after Charlottesville, citing as his three sources the Fox News provocateurs Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, and Jesse Watters, none exactly a reliable source.
How’s the fishing?
Perhaps worst of all or Trump, Harris had a well-planned, and well-executed, strategy of baiting him on topics that succeeded in setting him off:
After she said people were bored at his rallies, he spent several moments extolling the size of his crowds and accusing her of faking her own crowd sizes; when she attacked him for his unbelief in the rule of law by recounting the scores of local, state and federal criminal and civil charges he has faced, including his conviction for criminal fraud in New York, he answered with a lengthy attempt to debunk all of them, which only called more attention to them; when she went after him for “inciting” a seditious riot on Jan. 6, he offered some revision about his speech to the crowd that stormed the Capitol after his speech that day, yelled about it being the fault of “Nancy Pelosi” and expressing sympathy for the shooting death of Ashli Babbitt, who was killed by a security agent trying to break onto the House floor.
He said not a word about the 140 cops injured that day, or the five who died in the immediate wake of the violence.
Good analysis of the debate!….might I suggest the excellent historical context view from Heather Cox Richardson?!…

Jerry Roberts has worked in the news business as a reporter, editor, columnist, commentator and author for nearly 50 years, including a quarter-century at the San Francisco Chronicle, where he held a series of senior newsroom and executive positions. The author of a biography of Senator Dianne Feinstein, he is co-founder of the politics website “Calbuzz” and a political analyst for KEYT-TV and KCRW-FM. The documentary “Citizen McCaw” chronicles his fight for ethical journalism.
Would you expect any other take on the debate from a san Francisco liberal? This article is so one sided it’s laughable.
Higher taxes
Open border
Defund the police
Amnesty for all
Abortion up to birth
Bigger government
More regulations
Higher energy prices
More wars
Reparations
Lower taxes
Sensible immigration
Fund the police
Deport illegals
Sensible abortion 14 week ban
Smaller government
Less regulations
Lower energy prices
Safer world
And an orange buffoon.
I’ll take the buffoon.
I’ll take an ugly Ferrari over a shiny Hyundai any day. Would I like a Porsche Turbo?
Of course however that’s not an option
David – Congratulations on your faithful recitation of all the vague, meaningless Fox talking points. But you missed Trump’s own list of priorities: banning electric batteries in boats because they sink and electrocute sharks, or some such thing; catching those Haitian (mostly legal) immigrants who eat the family pets and finding an offensive nickname for Harris that will stick, among others even more ridiculous. You seem to be unable to accept the fact that your candidate is just too old and demented. Believe me, we Democrats know – but at least we accepted reality.
Nice tribute to Jerry Robert’s impressive journalistic background, though. You’re right – he’s a local treasure!
You seem unable to defend your candidates policy.
Higher taxes

This is what we got for the last 3.5 years with the Biden/Harris administration. Not to mention massive inflation.
DAVID0593 – How about you quit lying? Noe of those are her policies. Not a single one.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/26/politics/video/kfile-defund-police-harris-campaign-election-kaczynski-lead-digvid
You should really read more about this, like watch the video in your own link.
Vice President Kamala Harris voiced support for “defund the police” in a radio interview in June 2020 amid nationwide protests for police reform, just months before denouncing the movement after she had joined the Biden presidential campaign.
Oh but her valued haven’t changed
Once again, it’s not her policy to “defund the police.”
And since you’re so ramped up about the topic, what are your thoughts about Trump’s plan to defund the FBI? You folks do know that the FBI is basically the federal “police,” don’t you?
Well $4.5 billion for a new headquarters sounds like they have too much money to me.
OK DAVID, so why do you oppose reallocating resources for local police (what you folks call “defunding”) but support cutting funds to the FBI?
Can you explain that vastly hypocritic discrepancy? Seriously, would love to understand more why local police should be left untouched but our federal police should be cut?
https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/19/politics/harris-corporate-tax-rate-raise-proposal/index.html
Yeah, higher taxes for CORPORATIONS, not you and I.
😂😂😂yeah those corporations won’t pass it on.
That’s not “higher taxes,” Copernicus.
Another right winger with no understanding of economics.
hahaha coming from you this is truly hilarious. Have you read some of your previous posts on various other topics?
I’ve read all of my previous posts.
I challenge you to say something intelligent … so far you seem incapable of it.
She wants a 28% tax rate on Corporations. What will that do? They will go offshore again and keep the profits offshore so as not to have to pay the taxes on them. China had at the time a 25% tax rate, that is why Trump dropped it to 21% and a one time money repatriation tax free to get the business and money back where it belongs in the US. A higher tax rate on Corps mean a loss of manufacturing and other jobs. Also, while I am at it, report came out the other day of the new jobs recently created, 650,000 went to newly arrived asylum seekers. people born here a net loss of 1.5 million jobs. She is in the pocket of the Corporate globalist that lobby to leave the US for cheap labor and illegal migrants for the same reason.
“globalist” is an antisemitic dogwhistle.
The rest of the comment is complete nonsense and racism. Note that asylum seekers are not illegal migrants.

I could go on.
I also only used your own network.
This wasn’t one of your listed “policies,” nor is it a policy. It’s a belief shared by most people that threats of violence don’t belong on social media.
Keep going…. you’re 0 for 3 now.
You lost…just face it. Maybe next time!
Uh, DAVID, not sure if you’ve ever played/watched sports, but 0 for 3 means you attempted 3 times and succeeded 0 (that’s zero) times. So….. yeah
You lose again honey bunch.
JIMBO – 0 for 3 buttercup, 0 for 3. You polishing off your participation trophies?
your first clip shows Harris advocating for smarter police budgets, something that as a prosecutor she knows isn’t a topic you can reduce down to a 3-word phrase. She does not want to “defund the police”, and your claim that she does isn’t true.
your second clip is about a plan to raise taxes on the super wealthy, which is long overdue.
your third clip is about social media, and the need for it to take more responsibility for deliberately misinforming people and spreading hate speech.
So thanks for providing resources that directly rebut your claims. Do go on.
These are all things that have
LYING??? She is on tape saying she wants to defund the police. She wants sneaking across the border decriminalized. She said she wants ICE abolished…ON TAPE!
She set up a gofundme page to bail out looters and arsonist in Minnesota after the BKM riots. She said she wantedmedicare for all and said she would get rid of peoples private insurance. ON TAPE.
Economics? She wants price controls on the agriculrure and meat industries, which would nearly a cease in production, shortages at the supermarket and then massive rise in prices due to demand. SHE said to Trump they were hannded a mess economically??? What they were handed was a 1.4% inflation rate. A 1.9% interest rate. It was their insane spending, in the form of the ‘inflation reduction act , that cost 1.9 trillion dollars, and she was the deciding vote. That ran the inflation rate at one point to 9%. The Fed had to step in and raise the interest rates many times to finally 6%. The cost for new home buyers are though the roof because of these policies. the cost of lumber, the interest rates, the home insurance, EVERYTHING up massively because of the Biden/Harris admin. and now she wants to tell you …it was all really great, your really NOT suffering when buying food and gas, and although it was great, she is the one who will be able to fix what she says was not broken…..LOL
What a pawn.
Yes, lying … like your friends: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald-trump-rallies-mainstream-media_n_66e07063e4b0f6ea72e2b59c
Hi, David, can I ask you a favor?
You have quite a long list there. Can we, perhaps just start with one item and talk about it?
Open Border.
We don’t have an open border.
Now prove that I’m wrong.
lets see somewhere between 11 million and 20 million have crossed the border ILLEGALLY in just the last five years but yeah the libs say we don’t have an open border.
JIMBO – some people don’t pay for their food at restaurants. Does that mean the food is free?
How about you go walk up to a US Border Patrol agent and tell him/her their job doesn’t exist. Come back and tell us what you find out.
Beware: Right wingers don’t understand analogies. They’re likely to take you to mean that Haitians are stealing food from restaurants.
Who was President 5 years ago? (Trump)
How many undocumented immigrants are there in the U.S. in total? (~11 million)
What percentage of them got here by crossing the southern border without documentation? (less than 1/2; most undocumented immigrants overstayed their visas)
So your number is absurd. But even if it weren’t, it would not imply an “open border”: the DHS has apprehended about 6 million people between legal ports of entry during Biden’s Presidency … apprehension means “not open”.
Now what about those Haitians who have been falsely accused of eating people’s pets? You folks say that you’re only opposed to illegal immigration, not legal immigration. JD Vance says “Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio” and that they “shouldn’t even be here”. The thing is though that the Haitians in Springfield are legal, legit, documented, and a boon to their community … unlike racist right wingers.
https://springfieldohio.gov/immigration-faqs/
“YES, Haitian immigrants are here legally”
David:
Simple minded
Totally brainwashed
Unaware
Propagandized
Intellectually bankrupt
Doesn’t have a clue
DAVID – I’ve posed multiple questions to you. Are you planning on actually engaging and responding to them or just doing the usual Con tactic of splattering untruths, then deflecting and finally disappearing without ever defending the policies you support?
Why is it you all do that?
David is a Gish Galloper.
Anonymous: So agree Jerry Roberts is a local treasure.
No thank you
Ask him about Kamala’s new plan to build 3 million new housing units.
That’s enough to house the 12 million illegals she let in. How does that make sense for the average American?
Very simply because it will help average Americans find affordable housing. It sounds like you’d scuttle a plan that would obviously help our citizens just to make sure you don’t accidentally help an undocumented person. Most people call that “throwing the baby out with the bathwater”, and it is both cruel and illogical.
Why can’t you comment without telling a blatant lie?
STEVE_O – it’s hilarious you call us “libs” like it’s an insult. Yeah, I’m PROUD to be forward thinking, compassionate, and unselfish. I wear words like “woke” and “lib” like badges of honor. Those are good qualities to have. Weird that you folks act like they’re not.
American adults who identify as politically liberal have long reported lower levels of happiness and psychological well-being than conservatives, a trend that mental-health experts suspect is at least partly explained by liberals’ tendency to spend more time worrying about stress-inducing topics like racial injustice, income inequality, gun violence, and climate change.
Don’t worry be happy!😃
DAVID – be happy like be terrified of immigrants eating your pets? Be happy like sobbing constantly about liberals coming for yer guns? Be happy like screaming about drag queens turning your kids gay? Be happy like hating poor people of other colors? Be happy about cutting education funds?
Yeah, you lot are a real happy bunch. Then again, ignorance is bliss…..
But by all means, go ahead and cite the study you’re referencing. I’d love to hear you lie some more.
https://magazine.columbia.edu/article/why-depression-rates-are-higher-among-liberals
Oh, so you plagiarized this article. Nice work, champ.
Next time, if you’re going to steal quotes, at least use ” ” marks and provide your cite in the original post. Not something to be proud of there, DAVID.
But ok, let’s look at your article. Now tell me, what exactly is wrong with liberals being more concerned about this country’s direction than you cons? Is there really nothing to worry about? I mean, you Cons are constantly freaking out about something or other. So tell us, well mostly tell the minorities, women and LGBQT community, why they shouldn’t be worried about another possible Trump administration?
Because life was better during his first 4 years.
This guy still wears his HS football jersey in the hopes of re-living that one night when he wasnt laughed at by the girls and mocked by the starters.
Better for who? Rich, white straight males of course were loving it then. Do you know that not all Americans are rich, white straight males?
Have you ever thought about others who were born differently that you? You think they had it “better” under Trump or will have it better if he gets back into the White House with nothing to stop him from carrying out his admittedly hateful and discriminatory policies?
I don’t care who you are.
Everyone liked it when their bills were lower.
Inflation is hitting the poor the worst. People can’t even afford to run their air conditioner.
DAVID – why can’t you answer the question?
People with higher IQ’s tend to suffer more from depression.
People with lower IQ’s, tend to huff gasoline, have too many babies and watch Sean Hannity.
Mines 130
But it doesn’t really matter. Even a moron can see we are headed in the wrong direction.
Why do you prefer racism, homophobia, isolationism, taking away women’s’ right to choose what happens to their bodies, cutting taxes for the rich, deporting people who have been here for decades contributing to our economy and providing you with food on your plate, withdrawing from NATO, and cozying up to dictators?
Sac – You forgot some really fun stuff like clearing out all the Civil Service personnel he doesn’t like, eliminating the Dept. of Ed … just read any of the 900+ pages of Project 2025.
175FILMS – absolutely! I guess I got tired of listing inhumane and racist policies.
I don’t expect a response from DAVID though. None of the Cons here ever fess up to defend the policies they support. It’s always instant silence when you ask them why the support this. Outing oneself as an admitted racist, sexist, bigoted sheep must be unpleasant, even for them.
Well, at least most of them. RUBAIYAT and COAST have no problem yelling it from the hills!
175FILMS – absolutely! I guess I got tired of listing inhumane and racist policies. I don’t expect a response from DAVID though. None of the Cons here ever fess up to defend the policies they support. It’s always instant silence when you ask them why the support this.
US public school sytem? We were number one in the world pre Dept of Edu. Now, I think we are ranked 29th. Gee , I wonder why anyone would want to abolish the Dept of ED and send it back to local control?
CHALF – do you have proof of that?
I would ask you for specifics on why we are moving in the wrong direction, but we would disagree anyway, and I’m not a moron.
– Abortion up until birth does not happen. Women right now dying because of abortion bans (unable to get medical treatment) – that IS happening.
– Higher taxes. I agree with higher taxes and more services.
– Open border. The border is not open.
– Defund the police. Does not mean what you think it means. It means more funding for drug interventions, homelessness intervention, and mental health interventions. (Which require more money, aka taxes.)
– Amnesty for all. Boy Reagan would be rolling around in his grave.
– Bigger government. Meh
– More regulations. For public safety and climate change? Bring it on.
– Higher energy prices – the president controls this…how?
– More wars – funny that you think Republicans are more anti-war than Democrats.
– Reparations – should definitely be considered, and a good reading of history can tell you why.
Reparations??? Where people that never owned slaves have to pay people who never were slaves. Makes perfect sense to me….
Lack of comprehension is not a virtue.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Case_for_Reparations
Interesting that you speak from their perspective (and understanding of possessives).

David, I realize you dont have any formal education and as such appear intellectually challenged, or at the very least, naive. But if you open a dictionary and look up the word “liberal”, you will see that it is defined as meaning “freedom”.
If you look up the word for someone who “loses”, the word used to describe them is” loser”. A word that I am confident you’ve called your entire life but definitely one that is used to describe the former POTUS and his political career.
As for freedom, you seem confused as to what that means. It means you have NO RIGHT to tell anyone how they choose to live their life. And you are free to live yours however you feel. It’s your choice! Here in America, you are free to be as dumb as you choose. Choose wisely little fella!
Nice personal attack.
We all can’t be Ivy League educated.
I’m definitely not a loser
And I did look up liberal and freedom is hardly mentioned.
Your Google must be different than mine.
LOL. You really dont know? haha.
No wonder.
Must be hard. Bless your itty bitty teeny weenie little heart! You poor thing.
DAVID – uh, the word “free” is mentioned in some capacity in 8 out of 10 definitions of the word, “liberal,” as you can see below from Dictionary.com:
liberal
1

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/liberal
That’s not “hardly mentioned.”
Even without being indoctrinated by an elite university, I know the difference between free and freedom.
Explain it then. How is being free to make choices about your body or religion or being free from bigotry or free from oppression any different than “freedom.”
Go ahead, tell us.
“freedom: the quality or state of being free”
Also: “sour grapes: disparagement of something that has proven unattainable”
You are indeed free … of scruples.
David, It’s a side effect of empathy and concern for the environment and other humans. I guess you’re admitting you’re unfamiliar with such thoughts.
How does the fact that we haven’t been lobotomized address the point?
Woke is still half asleep. Open your other eye and wake up.
Neither is a good choice and an embarrassment that its what our choices are.
Just one, really bad, orange embarrassment.
You and your friends: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald-trump-rallies-mainstream-media_n_66e07063e4b0f6ea72e2b59c
This guy David really thinks he thinks.
Glad to see RUBAIYAT’s racist crap was completely removed from the site, even the penalty box.
Jerry Roberts is writing an Op_Ed here. Many other reports have VP dodging answers. It bothered me that after Trump answered the “eating pets” story, that John Muir said, “we checked with the city manager before the debate”. That is absolute proof of a Gotcha moment and plan!!
I thought the moderators were very unfair.
I do not think anyone won in that debate.
Really? You’re that oblivious?
ANON – FYI, Trump did not “answer the ‘eating pets’ story…”, HE brought it up in answer to an unrelated question. And Muir did not say “we checked with the city manager before the debate,” he said that ABC had done an earlier story on the totally debunked allegation. The moderators cannot, and did not fact-check the whole debate, but at the same time they must be allowed to correct blatant lies, like the pet-eating story and the claim that some states allow executions of babies after birth. These are not policy disagreements or exaggerations – they are blatant lies.
And if you don’t think there is some dementia here, he repeated the same pet-eating lie that had so embarrassed him the night before at a rally the next day. He either thinks his supporters are really stupid, or his memory is that shot. It’s sad, but both are likely true.

Is this really the world you Cons want to live in? Constant conspiracy theories (check out his new pet, Laura Loomer) being spewed out and then people threatening and even acting out in violence? Conspiracy theories are all fun and cute, but when you have a man with this much influence (gag…. ) over so many people, we have a recipe for ongoing violence, the last thing this country needs.
This is dangerous. Words matter. We HAVE to change, America!
This is unique to the current GOP. We need the sensible Republicans to grow some cojones and stand up against this insanity. STOP VOTING FOR VIOLENCE!
on a lighter note; it appears that other country’s have taken notice as well (Germany in this example), I like how they ended it with the “PS: We also don’t eat cats and dogs,”…

“”Contradiction with facts and humor — that is the right answer to disinformation,” German State Minister Anna Lührmann…”
In some ways humor is the perfect antidote to bullying and an excellent way to highlight the hard core lunacy of Vance & Trump’s comments. In this case, however, the Haitian communities all over the US still feel like a target for real violence is being painted on their backs. The jokes point out absurdity, but at the root of that absurdity is hateful racism and there are now way too many people showing a willingness to act out in violence, and innocent people will get hurt. It is serious and cannot go unchallenged.
Loomer the Loon is not new.
Maybe Trump’s embracing her *even more* is. I read reports that Trump’s advisors work to keep him away from her and from parroting her.
They’re all bat crap crazy and/or manipulative.

Then it’s “Joe is the man to beat Trump!” OOPS. Then it’s “Joe is a great American for stepping aside!” but OOPS, Joe says it was a democratic coup, he didn’t step aside at all. Joe you’re a hero!! blah blah “Kamala has this great resume! Look at all those great things she did in San Francisco! OOPS! Kamala is a lot like AOC but without all that bartending experience.
What a crock of horsepuckey.
But, that’s all the cons have now besides a demented pair of candidates throwing tantrums about things that only exist in their imaginations.
That’s amazing jimbo, not a single thing you is even remotely close to factual. Trying so hard to be sarcastic and snarky is confusing you, I think. Remember: even sarcasm has an actual basis in reality. Nice job with the quotation marks though!

SBSURFERLIFE – LOL that is hilarious! A lot of lies about me for sure. Funny to see what I consider the epitome of internet trolls (people complaining about other people on Reddit) thinking they’re somehow better.
At least BASIC and I discuss real issues (well, sometimes), not just whining and wanking about other people on another site!
I did like though how they called us “spirit animals” of SB!
So true. Reddit is good for a lot of things but when it comes to local, we should be supporting a small local business and not corporate conglomorates.
Damn. I really thought I was a contender for this.
Well, I guess I need to face facts and bow down to Basic805 and Sacjon, the publicly recognized kings of Edhat.
Congratulations, guys.
ALEX and KIRK- thanks, I guess! So weird. BASIC is relatively new here I think, but I used to do this with Voice of Reason (I miss that guy, he was actually pretty smart) and then before that there was FACTOTUM (or something like that) and some others. I guess I’ve always had a thing about speaking out against folks who bombard the internet with hate, bigotry, misinformation, lies and did it with such pompousness.
I acknowledge, I can tend to drag things out and probably look like a jerk myself, but I’ve always just enjoyed the sparring. Weird that some randos on Reddit spent so much time hypocritically crying about people arguing on the internet though!
That’s so funny! I pretty new around here (on Edjat, I’ve been in SB 44 years) had no idea you guys have been doing this long enough to gain such fame.
