Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney formed The Black Keys after growing up together in Akron, Ohio. Their longtime friendship evolved into a musical partnership spanning more than two decades.
Early in their career, they drew inspiration from blues traditions and alternative rock influences, gaining attention in the early 2000s as they expanded their sound.
Across 12 studio albums, the band has continued to refine its sound. Their latest project, Ohio Players, marks another chapter in that evolution. The tour will feature songs spanning their early hits to recent releases.
The Santa Barbara Bowl’s 2026 season will feature a wide range of performances, from music to comedy. James Taylor, Charlie Puth, Lord Huron, and Train are among the scheduled artists. Comedian Trevor Noah is also set to perform.

This mix of genres, along with live comedy, reflects the Bowl’s position as a year-round cultural venue. The performances are scheduled to begin April 7, 2026, and run through October 4, 2026.
Santa Barbara Bowl History
The Santa Barbara Bowl was built in 1936 with funding from the Works Progress Administration. It was created to host events connected to the Old Spanish Days celebration.
Following World War II, the venue experienced a period of decline before regaining prominence in the 1970s.
The Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation was formed in 1991 to preserve and improve the site. The nonprofit began upgrades in 1994, and since then, more than $45 million has been invested in the amphitheater.
