Teens Hanging Outside Moving Vehicle
By an edhat reader
When I was headed down Sycamore Canyon Road [Friday night], a silver Honda CRV with three teenage girls, or young adults, were hanging out the windows of the vehicle they were riding in. They were holding onto the roof rack and looked to be taking photos, in addition to trying to hang out the windows far enough to touch the shrubbery!
They didn't stop hanging out the windows until they got to the roundabout at APS and Sycamore Canyon. Hopefully, the police will catch up with them. But in the meantime, it's a good reminder that kids need to be reminded not to take such chances. - They are not invincible, no matter what they think.

Nov 19, 2017 02:50 PM"Kids need to be reminded not to take such chances..." implies they know that certain behaviours can be hazardous to one's health. Being invincible (a lot more so than us creaking baby boomers, anyway) means they are beyond such boring concerns. In our day it was games of chicken.... very sensible stuff, huh!

Nov 19, 2017 10:19 AMGeez. I sure hope one of these wasn't my 19-year-old tenant. Peer pressure and (possibly) alcohol can make young' uns do tragically stupid stuff.

Nov 19, 2017 09:00 AMHard to convince kids they aren't invincible. They know so much more than the old coots (in their own minds).

Nov 19, 2017 01:35 PMThese kinds of shenanigans have been going on for a long time. IMO, what's really changed over the last generation (~25 years) is we have a better chance at observing them - there are now have over 300 million cell phones in the U.S. with cameras (more than one for every man, woman, and child).
