Teen Girl Injured in Carpinteria Shooting

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left a teenage juvenile victim with moderate injuries.

On Monday, November 7, 2022, at 6:42 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to an area hospital to investigate a report of a female juvenile with a gunshot wound to an extremity. Through their investigation, deputies determined that the victim was injured near the 5500-block of Carpinteria Avenue.

The victim is expected to recover, and an investigation is underway. There have not been any arrests made in this case.

    • COAST – actually a great point. The wooden gun thing was just so absurd it elicited a ton of responses. Believe it or not, I love those rubber band guns and have bought my kids some over the years. Sadly, it seems shootings (even in our area) are so common these days, they hardly get noticed. You’re right, it IS a sad state of affairs.

  1. OH–you think you can chase down the owner and that you can recover damages from him or him or enforce some other remedy? Can you get that “irresponsible owner” to restore life to the dead gun victims? Prevention is the best solution. Punishment is pretty unsatisfactory in the final analysis.
