The City’s newly elected Mayor and City Councilmembers will be sworn in during a hybrid event that will take place both in person and virtually on January 11, 2022.
The ceremonial portion of the swearing-in will be held on the front steps of City Hall, while public comment and participation will take place via Zoom: https://santabarbaraca-gov.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_BHXU9bk1SWq0ntGHplRq0Q
Individuals attending in person who also wish to make a public comment should plan to do so by using the Zoom app on their mobile device or computer, or by using the call-in feature.
During the November 2, 2021 election, voters elected Randy Rowse to serve as mayor. Incumbent Meagan Harmon was re-elected to her Council seat representing District 6, Kristen Sneddon, was re-elected to represent District 4, and Eric Friedman will continue to represent District 5 after running un-opposed.
Outgoing Mayor Cathy Murillo will call the meeting to order. A plaque presentation to Murillo will take place followed by the swearing in of the new mayor and councilmembers. After the swearing-in ceremony, Mayor-elect Rowse will announce adjournment to Council Chambers for the remainder of the meeting with the public invited to participate virtually.
