According to Conejo Hardwoods, it prioritizes environmentally responsible practices, and its products comply with California’s CARB Phase II standards, which limit volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. These regulations are among the strictest indoor-air-quality requirements in North America.
According to the California Environmental Protection Agency, CARB Phase II refers to the California Air Resources Board’s regulation that limits formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products such as hardwood plywood, particleboard, and medium-density fiberboard. These requirements were implemented to reduce exposure to formaldehyde, which can cause respiratory irritation and is recognized as a human carcinogen.
In a November 14 Instagram post, the company highlighted a recent design project featuring mid-century minimalism and extensive use of natural wood.
