UC Santa Barbara Police arrested 20-year-old Jackson Kyle Jue on Thursday in connection to the Isla Vista shooting and robberies.
Jue was arrested in Concord, CA following a “be-on-the-lookout” alert for a 2015 Subaru Outback with Jue described as armed and dangerous, according to scanner traffic.
Additional reports confirmed Jue is not a UCSB student, but was living in the Tropicana student residence hall where detectives reportedly recovered the firearm used in the shooting along with other weapons.
Jue has been charged with attempted homicide, robbery and assault in collaboration with the UCSB Police, UC Berkeley Police, the City of Concord Police Department, and the US Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.
Jue is currently being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility in Contra Costa County.
Woman Injured in Isla Vista Shooting Wednesday Night, Suspect Remains At-Large

A woman sustained a gunshot wound from a shooting in Isla Vista on Wednesday event.
The incident took place at 10:34 p.m. at the intersection of El Colegio Road and Los Carneros Road, near the Santa Ynez Tunnel to the UC Santa Barbara campus, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The victim was lying near the bike path when first responders arrived. She was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries by ambulance. Her name and condition are not known at this time.
Initial reports from the university state this was connected to two armed robberies in the area.
UC Santa Barbara’s alert system sent out six separate messages to students and staff beginning at 10:58 p.m. and ending at 3:07 a.m. Thursday.
The first alert stated a crime was in progress in the 6500 block of Cervantes Road in Isla Vista and a second crime occurred at the Los Carneros bike path tunnel.

The second alert confirmed both incidents were armed robberies. The suspect was described as either a Hispanic male adult or white male adult wearing all black clothing, black gloves, and black boots. The suspect was armed with a handgun and was last seen traveling westbound on foot from the area of the Los Carneros/El Colegio bike path tunnel.
The third alert advised students of a significant law enforcement presence in the area of El Colegio Road near Santa Ynez Apartments/Santa Catalina/San Joaquin Villages as police continue their investigation. Students were told to shelter in place.
At 3:07 a.m. the final alert stated the University Police had lifted the shelter-in-place order but stated the suspect is still at large.
UC Police and the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating these crimes and will maintain increased patrols in Isla Vista and on campus. All are encouraged to contact UCSB Police at 805-893-3446 with any information about the incident.

According to the alert, Jue is a resident of the Tropicana student residence hall in Isla Vista, where investigators reportedly found a bag with numerous weapons after talking to his roommate. Investigators also reportedly recovered the firearm used in the shooting.
Reyes said Jue’s arrest was a result of a collaboration between the UCSB Police Department, the UC Berkeley Police Department, the city of Concord Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.”
