Summerland Slick Stop

By John Wiley
We were happy to see that the exciting community effort to stop the oil leaks and slicks from old wells in Summerland has started. Flying past we wondered how a big vessel got grounded on the beach. Then we saw the tugboat offshore, the crane on the beached barge, and realized what was going on. Here are some pix for those who haven't seen it yet. Wonderful to see!

Feb 27, 2018 01:18 PMThe barge is working right next to the old well, which is just on the beach -they must have set it in the surf zone during high tide - quite an amazing site.
