Successful SpaceX Launch of Starlink Satellites from Vandenberg

SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base Sunday evening.

At 6:39 p.m., Falcon 9 launched 46 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit. The rocket’s first stage landed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship and the satellites were confirmed to deploy.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation providing satellite Internet access coverage to 34 countries. It aims for global coverage.

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying several Starlink satellites for SpaceX is scheduled for launch Sunday at 6:39 p.m. from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The rocket will carry 46 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East at the Lompoc base. A backup launch window is available on Monday, July 11 at 6:39 p.m. PT in case Sunday’s mission is aborted.

The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, DART, and three Starlink missions. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage will return to Earth and land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

The launch should be visible for at least 100 miles, specifically from southwest Lompoc, Gaviota, Goleta, and Santa Barbara.
