At 5:25 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the Chevron Gas Station at 47 N. Fairview Ave in Goleta for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a working fire burning in the carwash and office area behind the gas station.

The fire started in the office and spread to the attic area. Crews knocked the fire down quickly but there was significant damage to the office and car wash areas, said Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni.

Structure Fire at Chevron's Car Wash

I was at CVS when the fire broke out. It wasn't the gas area but a portion of car wash area. I saw 6 engines roll in. FYI I tried getting from Dearbourne off of the 217 to CVS and it took me 25 minutes. I didn't realize traffic was so intense in this area. Absolute mess. And then the fire.
