Stolen Truck and Trailer Full of Wood

By an edhat reader
Truck and trailer full of wood belonging to local woodworker Robby Bjorklund was just stolen, possibly from Cathedral Oaks. If anyone has information please call the Sheriff's Office.

Mar 03, 2021 02:48 PMJust about every time we've passed this truck/trailer full of wood parked on Cathedral Oaks, one or the other of us says, " There he is again. Geez. Wonder if that guy has ever had anything stolen anything off there?" Then the other person, right on cue, replies, "Yeah. Sure is nice stuff."

Mar 03, 2021 05:34 PMHard to feel bad for someone who leaves a vehicle on the street in another neighborhood for years, 24/7 . It gets moved to the other side of the road every few days to avoid it being towed. Perhaps they should check with HWY Patrol. Maybe they finally did tow that piece of crap.

Mar 04, 2021 07:19 AMMy guess is that it is hard for your to feel sorry for anyone, am I right? I guess that setup is an oversize vehicle, can't they get him on that? But it's not the worst thing I've ever seen, and he's not taking up parking in front of someone's house, which is usually what gets people upset?

Mar 03, 2021 05:45 PMYes, I often wondered why this didn't happen before. Pretty expensive wood pieces there. Sorry for the owner, but he needs a better storage solution.

Mar 03, 2021 07:25 PMI know them. They have tons of land and storage. This was for advertisement purposes, not storage. Hopefully, it will be recovered. I am surprised it was allowed to be there for so long though.

Mar 03, 2021 07:20 PMThe truck AND the trailer? I'm sure if it happened it HAD TO BE cathedral oaks, right there between foothill school and Patterson, at the top o' the hill. That's where we've all seen this deal sitting for at least the past 5 years. Someone whose been living in the neighborhood longer than me might add in some number of additional years. Oh well, let's see what happens. The relatively newly added whale carving must have been too enticing for someone.

Mar 04, 2021 02:11 AMBummer! I had lovely Acacia slabs stolen from next to our Mesa house 5 years ago. There is a great deal of effort to cut fallen trees and haul the heavy, green wood out. I hope he gets his wood back and finds a better storage solution. He should probably leave town as most artists are forced to do. The funk zone used to be paradise for artists to live and work, not just art walks and wine. Wat too expensive for artists.

Mar 04, 2021 02:38 AMBTW: Larry Cavaletto at Noel Xmas tree farm, ran a large storage yard for years. People stored tree working equipment, boats, motorhomes, even an entire brewery set up. It was affordable and much needed, and appreciated storage in the area. The County shut him down and instead of growing xmas trees or storing vehicles, he grew houses. Thus we have people storing all manner of property in the public right of ways. The community needs storage more than more expensive homes and traffic, but it is probably too late for that.

Mar 04, 2021 02:45 AMHe has beautiful local wood, recycling neighborhood trees for home remodeling projects. It’s there for advertising, not for storage. Hope his stuff turns up.

Mar 05, 2021 04:13 AMProbably near his old house! It's hard to drive the trailer up the old road, but yeah, they (The Bjorklunds) have land.

Mar 04, 2021 08:44 AMHe wanted free advertising. He risked leaving his display out in the street. It wasn't parked there because he has nowhere else to park it. That's an older Ford truck which is easier to steal. He should have a hidden GPS tracking device on it that alerts him if it moves. It's a shame that someone stole it but he chose that risk.
