The San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department announced on November 5 that the Stenner Creek Road Bridge will temporarily close for repairs later this month.
According to a statement released on County of San Luis Obispo website, the closure will affect the bridge about 1.25 miles north of the intersection with Highway 1 from November 18 to 20, 2025.
It will be closed to vehicles daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during those dates and open outside of those hours.

2025 Report of SLO’s Public Works Department
In its 2025 annual report, the Public Works Department highlighted $67.2 million in capital projects aimed at maintaining and upgrading 135 miles of city streets.
The department is also modernizing parking systems, expanding electric bus service, and reducing emissions through its “Go Green” campaign.
Other accomplishments include new park and open space improvements, expanded trail networks, and upgrades to water and road infrastructure.
Besides that, the department has completed other projects such as:
- 26 Parks upgrades
- 13 open spaces
- Nine conservation easements
- 13,414 trees preserved
- Increased transit passengers
- 191 miles of water lines
- More than 66 miles of trails
- 143 miles of road
- 2,740 public parking spaces
Chimney Rock Road Project
Among it several projects, the San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department is also building a permanent bridge at the Chimney Rock Road washout at Franklin Creek, located around 20 miles west of Paso Robles.
Two culverts beneath the road washed out in 2023, and a temporary bridge was installed to restore access for residents.
Construction of the permanent bridge is expected to be completed in 2026. The project, located in Districts 1 and 2, will improve public safety and restore the original road’s travel capacity.
