Starcycle Under the Stars

StarCycle, Santa Barbara’s only dedicated spin studio located in La Cumbre Plaza, will be hosting its first-ever Under the Stars event in partnership with Direct Relief. This fundraiser will take place this coming September 7th, 2019, from 5-7pm and all proceeds from the event will be donated directly to charity.

As you walk into the event at the plaza, you’ll check in with the StarCycle team to grab your wristband and be encouraged to walk the step and repeat to capture your moment under the stars. At this twilight spin soiree, the mall will be filled 80’s music curated and mixed by local DJ, Ally Edwards. You’ll be dining on tapas provided by Los Agaves, sipping on local drafts from Captain Fatty’s and not too mention dessert will be served up by local ice cream company, McConnell’s.

“Under The Stars was created by our franchise in Portland, OR and as a company, this is our opportunity to take care of our bodies AND give back to our community,” said co-owner of StarCycle Santa Barbara, Kayla Neal. “We want SB to come together, have some fun and raise money for a great cause.”

StarCycle opened its studio doors last February 2019, and brought to Santa Barbara a strong fitness community that is all inclusive. They offer lively spin classes set to the tunes of EDM, Rock & Roll, Hip Hop and oldies hits, in their luxury candle-lit studio which creates a fitness-haven for many of their members and new riders. The team continuously encourages strength and vitality to their members with weekly positive mantras and instructor support for everyone. They aim to connect and encourage wellness-minded friends that walk through their studio everyday.

“We knew our town was ready for this studio but we were still surprised by the thousands of people that poured in our first couple of weeks in business,” said Kayla Neal. “It’s been incredible. In just a short six months the StarCycle community has become a family, our family.”

Before the opening, the StarCycle team hosted a Sunday Funday Brunch in partnership with Santa Barbara Picnic Co. to introduce themselves to the SB community. They collaborated with vendors like Hook & Press donuts as well as Alexis Ireland Florals to create the perfect Sunday Brunch to gather and connect with their new community.

“We hope to do two or three of these charity events every year,” said Kayla Neal. “It’s such a fun time, pulling the bikes out into La Cumbre’s courtyard, jamming tunes, great food and drinks all in the name of charity. Can’t think of a more awesome time!”

The team has adored throwing events for the Santa Barbara community, even before their doors were open for business. It did not come as a surprise that this dynamic leadership came together to host another community event to bring people together and to raise money for a good cause.
