Stabbing on the Westside

By an edhat reader
I didn't see anything posted on this yet so thought I'd share what I know. A stabbing took place this afternoon on the Westside, on San Pascual with Sola as the cross street.
It was between two people that responders believed to be homeless. Police and ambulances arrived and the two men involved were treated and taken to the hospital. There didn't appear to be anyone else involved.

Jan 06, 2021 08:07 PMMight be just a coincidence, but a bunch of transients got ousted out of the little kids Park on the 1300 block San Andres. Even though they were the harmless transients, staying late at night, playing card games, and dominos, and, of course drinking..... BUT, they were also pissing & pooping along the fence .....

Jan 07, 2021 11:54 AMWhere else? Somewhere that has plumbing and or a means of dumping the waste properly. Public restrooms, gas stations, fast food joints, porta potties. Just NOT where my kids play.

Jan 07, 2021 12:04 PMThe homeless are people too, just like you and me. They have to follow the same rules.

Jan 07, 2021 12:53 PMConsidering the daily emergency response to the IV tent village and the absolute filth that most of our SB parks have become...the ridiculous thing is to continue on the path we're going. It's legitimately embarrassing. At least we're out of the homeless fire season...that was fun!

Jan 07, 2021 01:08 PMYesterday a homeless guy ripped off my neighbors inflatable snowman and doing something strange with it in our front planter..He took a break and left the mess in our front area...Maybe some of you folks who think some of us are too hard on the homeless can give us your numbers and we can call you when there is a mess so you can clean it up..

Jan 07, 2021 01:15 PMI've had three bikes (admittedly they were all somewhat crappy and were all locked with cheap bike locks, but still!) stolen since early December. Take a walk down Cabrillo...it's gotten kind of disgusting. We've basically just given away a bunch of our local parks and beach areas...trash, litter and human waste abound!

Jan 07, 2021 06:50 PMI just can't follow your thoughts, Roger the scanner guy. You so often defend the homeless. And so often decry them. I got whiplash.

Jan 07, 2021 08:51 AMCan We get word out to the gangbangers that if Cottage is full, they have to wait in the parking lot with their stab wounds and gunshots? Priority to non-violent patients. It’s only fair.

Jan 07, 2021 10:29 AMAnd by the way the 17 year old murder victim killed on Liberty was not in a gang either...He did not deserve to die nor be identified as a gang member.

Jan 07, 2021 11:19 AMAbout two days ago I believe it was the Independent that showed a picture of a memorial set up for the people in the recent shooting. In the photo was shown a dark colored bandana with white designs wrapped around a religious candle. I believe there was another similar bandana that was folded and placed at the site. If this is accurate can anyone confirm the significance of these bandanas?

Jan 07, 2021 11:37 AMAgreed Roger. Terrible. Was not referring to that victim whatsoever. Just generally referring to anyone proactively engaging in violence. If we are going to run out of hospital beds, decisions are going to need to be made. Priority should be given to those not getting into knife fights. Hopefully we don't run out of hospital beds and they can treat everyone. My condolences to the 17 year old victims family. Absolutely tragic and horrendous. Be safe out there everyone.
