Stabbing and DUI Arrests This Weekend

Santa Barbara Police Officers booked 25 suspects into Santa Barbara County Jail on Friday and Saturday. Those charges include:
 
Six DUI Arrests
Six arrests for domestic violence, including domestic battery, assault with intent to cause great bodily harm, restraining over violations, and witness dissuading; One domestic violence investigation resulted in the seizure of several firearms, including illegal assault weapons;
Two arrests for resisting or delaying and officer;
Lastly, arrests for burglary, aggravated assault, brandishing a weapon, lewd conduct, and miscellaneous additional offenses.
 
Sunday Morning Argument Leads to Stabbing
On Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 8:11 A.M., the Santa Barbara Police Department responded to the 1100 Block of State Street to investigate a report of a transient-related fight in progress.
 
Upon arrival, Officers found a victim with multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds. The suspect, Henry Jesus Ake, age 42, remained on scene and was searched by Officers. Officers found an improvised bladed weapon in the pocket of Ake.
 
Both the victim and the suspect claimed a verbal argument had escalated from a fist fight to a stabbing. The victim was transported to Cottage Hospital to be treated for his wounds. Ake was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon and taken to Santa Barbara County Jail.
