SR-246 Passing Lane Project Continues

Source: Caltrans

A traffic safety project to construct passing lanes in both directions on State Route 246 near Lompoc from Cebada Canyon Road to Hapgood Road (East) continues with preparing and paving the new and existing traffic lanes.

Motorists may encounter lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and on Fridays from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm this month.

Much of this roadwork is behind protective barrier but motorists should drive carefully through this construction area with minimal traffic delays.

The contractor for this $14.9 million project is Papich Construction of Pismo Beach, CA. This project is fully funded by the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG) Measure A program.  It’s scheduled to be complete this spring.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
