A commercial structure fire was knocked down in Goleta early Saturday morning, February 7, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
At 7:37 a.m. crews arrived in the 100 block of Cremona Drive and discovered an active fire in a commercial building that was kept in check by a building sprinkler system.
Crews found a first-floor room on fire that had been held in place by the activation of a single sprinkler head. Firefighters fully extinguished the blaze, and knockdown was declared at 8:04 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation. It’s unclear if anyone was present in the building at the time of the fire.
According to a map provided by the Fire Department, the fire appears to be in the building that neighbors Goleta’s City Hall and currently houses several business offices.
Santa Barbara County Fire and Santa Barbara City Fire personnel remained on scene Saturday morning. Officials said updates will be provided as available.
