A sprawling Spanish-style estate in Santa Barbara’s Hope Ranch has hit the market for the first time in 50 years.

Located at 3978 Laguna Blanca Drive, the two-story home sits on 1.23 acres and spans 8,735 square feet, offering 12 bedrooms, 11 and a half bathrooms, and a range of indoor and outdoor amenities, according to the listing.

The estate was originally built in 1970 and is a single-family home with two levels, which has remained under the same ownership for 50 years. 

The property also offers fireplaces in both the primary bedroom and the living room, the listing stated.

Mountain views surround the estate, with interiors designed to let in plenty of sunlight.

The 12 rooms consist of a sun room, primary bedroom, office space, great room, two gaming rooms, two family rooms, two exercise rooms, and two ground-floor bedrooms.

Outside, the estate features lawn areas, mature landscaping, garden space, and a motor court with ample parking, including four attached garages.

The estate falls within the Hope Elementary, La Colina Junior High, and San Marcos High School districts.

Eastern Goleta Valley is currently considered a balanced housing market, with supply and demand largely in line. While some properties still attract multiple offers, homes typically sell for about 4% below the asking price. On average, listings go under contract in roughly 57 days, according to Redfin.

A four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath oceanfront home at 1547 Shoreline Drive in Santa Barbara’s Mesa neighborhood has been listed for $14.5 million, The property is set on just over half an acre, the two-story estate spans 5,217 square feet and offers sweeping ocean views and resort-style amenities.

Edhat previously reported that a Spanish-style estate at 937 Arcady Road in Montecito has been listed for $6.85 million. Built in 1962 and set on more than an acre, the 3,689-square-foot home includes three bedrooms, landscaped gardens, and a pool, according to the Redfin listing.
