SpaceX has scheduled a rocket launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Friday evening.
A Falcon 9 rocket carrying 24 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit is expected to launch between 7:05 – 11:05 p.m. from Space Launch Complex 4 East.
“This launch supports Department of Defense communications through advanced low Earth orbit technology. VSFB’s analysis indicates there will be no sonic boom heard over populated areas,” the base states.
Areas local to Vandenberg Space Force Base will hear the initial low rumble of take-off.

Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
