SpaceX successfully launched 24 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base on Wednesday, June 3, at 8:40 a.m. PT.
The mission, designated Starlink 17-47 and approved by the U.S. Space Force within a 7:00–11:00 a.m. PT launch window, marked the 16th flight for the Falcon 9 first-stage booster. The booster has previously flown NROL-126, Transporter-12, SPHEREx, NROL-57, and now a total of 12 Starlink missions.
Following stage separation, the first stage touched down on the droneship “Of Course I Still Love You” stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
Residents in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may have heard one or more sonic booms associated with the launch, depending on local weather and other conditions.
A live webcast accompanied the mission at spacex.com/launches/sl-17-47 and on X @SpaceX, as well as the X TV app.
