Guardians and Airmen at Vandenberg Space Force Base supported the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink 17-37 mission at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from Space Launch Complex 4 East, marking the base’s 35th launch of the year.
The mission deployed 24 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit. SpaceX streamed the countdown and liftoff, with coverage beginning about 10 minutes before launch on its website and on X.
The flight used a first-stage booster on its sixth mission. The booster had previously launched NROL-105 and four Starlink missions and was slated to land on the droneship “Of Course I Still Love You” stationed in the Pacific Ocean following stage separation.
Officials noted there was a possibility that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties might have heard one or more sonic booms during the launch, depending on weather and other conditions.
Additional SpaceX launches from Vandenberg were planned for May 30, June 3, and June 10.
