Feb 01, 2023 04:36 PMGreat photo!
According to the San Luis Obispo Tribune:
“”D-Orbit’s satellite carrier included a payload from StardustMe, a New Zealand-based firm offering space burials involving a token amount, about a gram, of cremated remains delivered into space to orbit for five years.
Eventually, in a breath-taking finale, the capsule will harmlessly re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere, blazing as a shooting star,” StardustMe.com said on its website.””

Feb 01, 2023 04:48 PMThat kind of treatment of human remains really offends some cultures, like the Navajo.

Feb 02, 2023 10:09 AMI respect the beliefs and traditions of our Native American brothers and sisters. But if you don't want your ashes taken to space, you don't have to. Freedom of choice, always. Allow those rich elitists who can afford it shoot their beloveds into the heavens if they want. I know I could never afford it. The rest of us can choose any form of burial and respectful resting place we want (or can afford). Until the archeologists 10,000 years from now dig us up and make wrong conclusions about our culture because of some trinket a relative insisted be put in the box with me.
