A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch Thursday morning from Vandenberg Space Force Base, carrying 24 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit.
The U.S. Space Force has approved the Starlink 17-44 mission, with a launch window between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. PT on June 11, 2026, from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E).
Residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may hear one or more sonic booms during the launch, though what residents experience will depend on weather and other conditions.
The mission marks a significant milestone for the first stage booster, which will be making its 34th flight. The booster has previously supported a variety of missions, including NROL-87, NROL-85, SARah-1, SWOT, Transporter-8, Transporter-9, NROL-146, Bandwagon-2, NROL-153, NROL-192, Transporter-14, Transporter-15, CAS500-2, and 20 prior Starlink missions.
Following stage separation, the first stage booster will land on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
