Reported by an edhat reader

At approximately 11:20 am Friday, we heard in the distance a series of forceful “booms” which lasted about 1 full minute, seemingly coming due west from the Ellwood Beach area. No rocket launch to be seen from the Vandenberg direction, though.Any ideas of what it could have been?
