The 2025 Summer Solstice Workshop opens this Saturday, May 17, in downtown Santa Barbara.

Located at the Community Arts Workshop (CAW), 613 Garden Street, artists will begin making their floats and artistic visions for this year’s theme: “WILD WORLD.”

This is an opportunity to meet the artists and you can participate, make a float, or join an ensemble.

The Workshop Opening Reception is from 3 to 6 pm this Saturday. Artists in Residence will “show and tell” their plans for this year’s ensembles.

If this is your year to be in the Solstice Parade, you can register online here.

You can avail yourself of our expertise, tools and materials to create your visions for the Parade – or can volunteer in the Workshop, get community service hours, or work with our team of artists and tech team: use same form, which includes your Parade Registration

Starting May 15, Workshop public hours in May will be Wed, Thurs, and Friday from 3-8 PM and Sat & Sun from Noon to 6 PM

Be part of the Summer Solstice Parade! It’s not about being talented. It’s about having fun! Solstice supplies the materials along with a dedicated staff of artists, tech people, costumers, and mask makers who will teach, guide, and mentor you in this fun community art project.

The Santa Barbara Solstice Celebration begins with the Community Arts Workshop. It hosts a diverse cross-section of the Santa Barbara community working side-by-side on their magical creations, and features a special Children’s Area designed to encourage kids and their parents to participate in artistic expression and creativity. People from all economic groups, able-bodied to disabled, all derive joy in this communal project.

The Solstice Festival and Parade will take from June 20-22 in Santa Barbara. Learn more here.
