Small Oil Spill at Cat Canyon Oil Facility

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a spill at an oil facility in Cat Canyon on Friday afternoon.

At 1:15 p.m., crews arrived in the 6100 block of Dominion Road at the HVI Cat Canyon Facility / Las Flores and discovered an oil storage tank had leaked.

There were approximately five barrels of crude oil that leaked from containment and employees of the facility immediately contained the spill and contacted 9-11.

There were no wildlife or waterways affected by the spill and it’s currently being cleaned up by facility employees.
