Firefighters extinguished a small vegetation fire along Highway 101 southbound just north of the Summerland exit early Tuesday, May 19, according to the Montecito Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched around 6 a.m. to multiple reports of a fire near the railroad tracks. First-arriving units found a roughly 50-by-50-foot area burning and quickly knocked down the flames.
Montecito Fire thanked the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office for assisting.
Additional details were not immediately released.
