The Madonna Inn, located off Highway 101 at 100 Madonna Road in San Luis Obispo, is a historic and unique motel that includes a restaurant, bakery, and gift shops.
Opened in 1958, it quickly became a quirky landmark on the Central Coast. It is noted for its unique decor, pink dining room, and themed rooms. It was created by Alex Madonna, a successful construction magnate and entrepreneur and his wife Phyllis.

Looks like a real creep. Someone must’ve seen him around town – that weird beard, it’s pretty characteristic.
glad they are looking for him & not ignoring the crime. Wish other CA major cities would do the same!
That boutique is worth a visit! Best coats anywhere, oddly. FUN stuff.
Not to quibble but the last bit in the release about the “successful construction magnate and entrepreneur” absolutely rewrites history. Madonna was commonly known to be bribing local officials for building contracts and getting other favors. He was no model for us to emulate.
Since you’re quibbling… the article doesn’t state that Madonna was a good person. But he was successful in getting things built and building a business (regardless of his shoddy ethics).
One might quibble further over the idea that “successful in getting things built” allows ethical shortcuts.
The beard looks store bought to me. Check out the beard in the area of the left ear.
