  1. As a pedestrian and also bicyclist who has had my share of drivers nearly run me down, I get the “road rage” if the skateboarder was hit or nearly hit by the driver. Sometimes, when you have a near death experience thanks to an idiot driver either not paying attention or else deliberately threatening you with his/her vehicle, your survival instinct instantly morphs into utter rage. I once took a chip out of the side of a woman’s car by flicking my dog’s leash. The thick metal end of the leash made swift and solid contact. That driver cut me off at a green light in the crosswalk and nearly ran down my dog. Without barely time for thought, I whipped that leash and “whack!” It certainly was a satisfying feeling, I can tell you. Clocking someone’s windshield with a skateboard may be just a tiny bit over the top, though. And I highly doubt that the skateboarder had the right of way to begin with.

  2. I get kinda jacked when someone tries to run me over. There’s a gold Porsche 911 out there somewhere with an imprint of my bike pump on the engine cover. The look in his face after he hit me said “I drive a Porsche and I can outrun you ’cause you’re on a bike”…until the next stoplight came along!
