A traffic crash in the 2800 block of Betteravia Road in Santa Maria around 12:01 p.m. prompted a multi-agency response from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the Santa Maria Fire Department, officials said.
Fire crews arrived to find a single vehicle that had rolled over and traveled roughly 50 feet down an embankment into a ditch. Of the four occupants, three were uninjured and self-extricated.
A female occupant with minor injuries required extrication and was brought back up to the roadway before being transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. The other occupants declined medical treatment.
Authorities initially asked the public to avoid the area and use alternate routes to keep emergency personnel safe.
The incident remains under investigation.
Officials thanked firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement partners for their swift response and reminded drivers to use extra caution, especially on unfamiliar or winding roads.
