Shooting Investigation in Santa Maria

So sorry to see this, which is becoming routine. I convinced my parents to move to Santa Maria in the early nineties, after they had been burglarized twice in southeast LA. It was a great thing for them and they lived out their lives peacefully in southwest SM. But something happened in the past decade; gangs and shootings have become 'normal,' where an incident like this story is just a blip. I'm afraid I couldn't recommend Santa Maria as a place to go these days. I avoid it.
